We love a good memoir! U.S. Olympic goalkeeper and former Dancing With the Stars contestant Hope Solo reveals in her new memoir, Solo: A Memoir of Hope, that she was slapped by her Dancing With the Stars partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Yikes! Hope insists that although Maksim was very apologetic about the incident, her ears rang from the slap and ABC offered to take Maksim off the show and give Hope a new partner. Although Hope didn’t take ABC up on their offer, obviously the slap was powerful enough, both physically and emotionally, to resonate with Hope, hence why she included the incident in her memoir.

The slap isn’t the only drama from Dancing With the Stars that made it into Hope’s memoir. She also reveals that Maksim told her that the show was conspiring to eliminate them as a dance duo. Apparently, Maksim said the conspiracy motivated him to slap Hope in order to create a little drama to keep them in the competition. Wow. ABC has yet to respond to these accusations.
