Fall TV Preview: Anticipated New Sitcoms

After the success of last year’s new batch of sitcoms including New Girl and 2 Broke Girls, this season viewers have high expectations for new shows. With the number of new sitcoms hitting the airwaves, it seems the networks have similar expectations. Here are the – sitcoms we are looking forward to:

Go On – Call us sentimental, but we still love Matthew Perry for all of his awkward bumbling as Chandler Bing. In his new sitcom, Perry plays a sports caster who has to go to therapy after his wife dies. With co-stars including John Cho and a setting like therapy that allows for so many hilarious situations we can’t wait. It’s clear that the show also has a serious side in dealing with death provides for a deep sitcom with loads of heart.

The Mindy Project – The hilarious Mindy Kaling is taking her writing skills from The Office to her own show on life and love as a single girl in New York. Sure, it’s a storyline that’s been done before, but with Kaling leading the way this is a recipe for serious laughs.

The New Normal – Created by Glee creator Ryan Murphy this is a sweet comedy about a single mom wanting to start over so she gets money by becoming a surrogate for a gay couple including The Hangover’s Justin Bartha. It looks cute and quirky and sweet, just like Glee.

Partners – This seems like the male version of 2 Broke Girls with two best friends who are also business partners that live together, one is gay and one is straight.  TV fans will recognize many of the actors including One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush, Chuck’s Brandon Routh, Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie and Numb3ers’ David Krumholtz. Now we have to wait and see if all of these elements equals success.
