You already knew this episode of The Bachelorette was going to be a BIG one. On the beautiful island of Curacao, Emily Maynard chooses her final two bachelors. Here is the show recap:
The show starts off with a pensive Emily walking on a white sand beach in Curacao. The show runs through her relationships with the 3 men who are left on the show: Sean, Jef and Arie. It’s a toss up at this point. She really has formed a special bond with every one of the men. We never expected Jef to have lasted this long…but there he is, deep in Emily’s thoughts.
The first date is with Sean-who tells the camera that he is desperately in love with Emily- but yet hesitates to express this to her. Tired of waiting she comes out and asks him how he feels about her. Sean tells her that she shouldn’t ever worry about his feelings and then he reads her the letter he wrote to Ricki. In the letter he tells Ricki that he loves her mother and that he can’t wait to spend his life with Emily and Ricki. Emily and Sean spend some quality time in the hot tub, but in the end she sends him away and he doesn’t spend the night.
The next date is with Jef. They take a gorgeous sail boat out on the ocean. Emily asks him what Jef’s family thought of her. He tells her that his family really liked her. Emily says to Jef ” I think you really get me”. Emily says to the camera that when she is with Jef there is no else around. At dinner later in the date, Jef and Emily discuss where they would live ( she said she would move) and that Emily feels that Jef would be a great dad for Ricki. Emily tells him that he ignites a self confidence in her and he tells her that he doesn’t know anyone more perfect for each other than the two of them… she agrees. Jef forgoes her invitation to spend the night in the fantasy suite.
Last, but not least is Arie. The two go swimming with the dolphins in the ocean. They kiss and kiss and kiss. Ok we got it, they have great chemistry…but what else? Emily says to the camera ‘ I need to figure out if there is more here than a physical connection’. During dinner they discuss every day life, what time they wake up and go to bed. They have a heart to heart discussion and the same as with the first 2 men, we are left with the impression that this is the man she ends up with.
Emotional Emily was crying going into the very last rose ceremony. She says that she doesn’t want to hurt anyone or make the wrong choice. During the ceremony, the men look visibly nervous. Jef got the first rose, Arie got the second.
Sean did not get the rose and was eliminated on the show. In a goodbye meeting between the two of them, Emily tells Sean that she wanted badly for it to be him. Sean says in the car ’ I honestly thought I was going to marry her’. In the end there could only be one.
One thing for sure, the last episode of this season is going to be very dramatic and we will be watching. Missed any of the Bachelorette episodes this season? See them all here.
