While performing in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday Lady Gaga was accidentally hit in the head with a pole by one of her dancers. Not only did the Poker Face singer suffer black eyes and a bruised face, but she’s also reportedly got a concussion as well. Still, the accident didn’t prevent the singer from finishing the concert and performing a further 16 songs afterwards.
The singer hasn’t been seen since the accident, but this morning Gaga spoke to her Twitter followers to give them an update and a picture of what she currently looks like. ”Thank you so much for all the thoughtful messages,” she tweeted. “I feel a bit woozy but a little better everyday. Very happy to be in beautiful Australia.” She followed that with a picture and the words “Emerging from hours of sleep. Still remiss if I should go outside, with this clonker I may be of questionable styling.”
During the concert Gaga also commented briefly on Madonna’s recent mash up of her song Express Yourself and Gaga’s Born This Way during a concert in Tel-Aviv. Gaga told the crowd that “I don’t even want to fight back because it’s more important to me to keep writing music… Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that’s what makes Born This Way so relevant for me… We’re socially in a different place and it’s OK, we don’t have to all slice and hate each other anymore. It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work.”
