Tonight, Kim Kardashian sits down sits down for the second part of her first ever interview with Oprah Winfrey where she opens up about her allegedly new romance with old friend, Kanye West (pictured together here in Cannes). ”We met maybe almost a decade ago,” insists Kardashian. “ I’ve known him for a really long time, we’ve been friends for like six or seven years, so it’s very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you that respects you, understands, has gone through similar things…. I don’t know why it took so long for us to kind of get together, but I think I needed to go through all my experiences and some that he’s gone through.”

The only bump in the road for the newly anointed “Kimye”: Kardashian still isn’t divorced from husband Kris Humphries. While the tabloids are already speculating that she’s ready for West to pop the question, Kardashian still has the Kim vs. Kris Kourt Kase (sorry, we couldn’t resist) to deal with. But the Kardashians are no strangers to controversy, so we’re the legal turmoil is just another petty inconvenience for the most famous member of the Klan Kardashian. The $10 Million Wedding
It’s hard to believe that less than a year ago, Kim Kardashian was about to walk down the aisle in one of the most expensive weddings in marital history. So what if her relationship to Kris Humphries didn’t last, or if it was just part of publicity stunt, as some tabloids have spectulated. If there was one star we could count on to upstage the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, it was Kim Kardashian. Kardashian also reportedly made all of the money back in publicity agreements. Did you really expect anything less?
The Butt X-Ray
To put to bed rumours that her famous fanny has implants, Kim Kardashian decided to X-ray her behind last summer, and of course she brought the TV cameras along with her. The verdict? 100% natural. Say what you will about the rest of the reality show, but don’t call Kim’s butt “fake.”
The Nude Playboy Photos
Before Keeping Up with the Kardashians was everyone’s secret Sunday night indulgence, Kim Kardashian was already tabloid fodder, thanks to an now legendary homemade sex tape. Kardashian agreed to pose for Playboy in 2007, before becoming the empire she is today. In an interview she did in 2010 with Harper’s Bazaar, she admitted that she now regrets posing nude for Hugh Hefner’s iconic magazine : “I’m sorry I did Playboy. I was uncomfortable… [My mom, Kris Jenner, said] ‘Go for it. They might never ask you again. [Keeping Up with the Kardashians] isn’t on the air yet. No one knows who you are. Do it and you’ll have these beautiful pictures to look at when you’re my age.’”
The 72-Day Marriage
Although 8 million people tuned in to E! to watch Kim Kardashian marry NBA star Kris Humphries, even the most over-exposed and decadent wedding in history wasn’t enough to keep Kim and Kris together after they said “I do.” Kardashian filed for divorce just 72 days after becoming Mrs. Humphries, citing “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for the split. The messy divorce is still in progress, and things are about to get more chaotic with a capital “K,” now that Humphries has subpoenaed Kanye West to appear in court. Expect to hear about it in detail on Kanye’s next album.

The Infamous Sex Tape
It did wonders for the career of her former best friend, Paris Hilton, and it worked for Kim Kardashian as well. Before Kardashian’s homemade sex tape with now ex-boyfriend Ray J was leaked online in 2007, nobody knew who Kim Kardashian was. Today, her name is synonymous with the term “famous for being famous.” Say what you will about the quality of her celebrity status, but no one can argue that Kim hasn’t milked her fame for all it’s worth. Not only did she make $5 million off of the leaked sex tape in a court settlement, she’s become a multi-million dollar brand because of it. And, hey, when Oprah comes to your house to interview you about your personal life, isn’t that proof enough that you’ve made it?
