In An Emotional Rose Ceremony Emily Maynard Chooses Her Home Town Dates

This has been a relatively drama free season on The Bachelorette. Emily Maynard kept it classy, but this is it, we are down to the final four guys. The home town dates start with the next episode, so you already know whoever gets sent home on tonight’s episode was going to be sad, very sad. Find out what happened in this episode recap.

The show started of with a one on one date with Arie, not that he needed one, these two have an amazing connection. Lots of staring into each other’s eyes and kissing. You can be sure that Arie is one of the last two standing.  In the meantime, a side note about the locale-Prague is absolutely gorgeous. What a pretty and romantic city. Surely Prague tourist season will get a boost from this episode.

Second one on one date is with John “Wolf”. These two have a friendship, but frankly it’s surprising that he has lasted this long on the show. He tells Emily that he thinks that he can fall in love with her. They kiss for the first time.  John comes back to the house to let everyone know just how great his date was. This sends Chris and Sean into a tizzy. The difference between the two men? Sean takes charge.

Sean chases out to look for Emily to tell her how he feels. Scripted or not, it was poignant. He does find her standing at the end of an alley and she manages to look surprised. Sean tells her that he missed her a lot and just had to see her. They kiss. She is happy to see him. Emily said ” I”m glad Sean had the confidence to come find me. This is the best surprise”.  They kiss some more. Sure bet he is one of the final two.

Next is a group date with Sean, Doug and Chris. Chris who seems to be the most emotionally vested, is getting extremely anxious. The four go out and explore a medieval castle. Emily has a chat with Doug and it becomes apparent to her that there is nothing romantic between them. She tells him that she doesn’t feel there is a future. She sends him home. Naturally Doug is upset.

The date continues with just Sean and Chris. Unfortunately for Chris, Emily has a stronger connection with Sean and he gets the rose. End of story.

Jef gets the last one on one date in this episode. They visit a puppeteer. They buy some marionettes and visit an incredible library, where they act out their Bachelorette relationship. Weird. It gets even weirder when Jef marionette tells Emily marionette that he loves her. She likes him though and they discuss their future together.

Emily asks to speak to Chris Harrison, she tells him that she has her mind made up and that she doesn’t want to go through the cocktail party and wants to go straight into the rose ceremony. The Bachelor Chris is very nervous and gets visibly upset. He goes outside to compose himself. This leaves the rest of the guys discussing his predicament…awkward.

During the rose ceremony the shaken Chris asks to speak to Emily before she gives out the roses. He tells her that he is sorry that he acted poorly during their date. He also tells her he loves her. We desperately want Emily to keep him at this point. And literally rejoice when she does! John “Wolf” gets sent home. Next week it’s the home town dates.
