Every year several Canadians are given the honor of being immortalized on Canada’s Walk of Fame, and this year it’s another interesting group. Six new nominees were announced today, and among them are 2 musicians, an actor, a ballet dancer, a football player and an entire hockey team.
The nominees for 2012 are Legendary rock and roller Randy Bachman, Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan, actor Phil Hartman, Football great Russ Jackson, Ballerina Sonia Rodriguez, and the entire Team Canada hockey team from 1972 who were well known for their underdog victory against the USSR.
These Canadians will receive their tribute on Saturday, September 22 at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre. The awards will be broadcast on Global in October.
