After months of speculation CFL Footballer Brad Smith was announced this morning to be the first ever Canadian Bachelor. Last season he played for the Edmonton Eskimos, but now with this announcement he’s decided to take time off to find true love.
In a press release Brad stated “I’m extremely honoured to be chosen as Canada’s first bachelor. I take this experience very seriously, and I truly believe in the process. I can’t wait to meet all the wonderful Canadian women who have put their lives on hold to experience all of this with me. I hope I can live up to their expectations, as I know they’ll absolutely exceed mine.”
In the same press release the Executive Producer said “Brad is the full package – a quintessentially Canadian, down-to-earth man. He is completely committed to this experience and in it for the right reasons. It’s Canada’s turn to find love with The Bachelor Canada and we could not have hoped for a more well-rounded and genuine person to kick off the first season.”
Production is currently underway, and the nine episode series is set to air this fall on CityTV.
