I am admittedly envious of Martin's writing style. I have read 4 of the books in this series so far. What compels me to read are the characters. I don't get into all of them, but of the ones I love, I am completely enthralled by them. My favorites are Jon Snow, Tyrion, and Daenerys. ____After I learned that Martin had experience as a television show writer (Beauty and the Beast) I can see how he writes in an episodic nature focused on a particular character. You see this approach in TV dramas all the time, and it is exactly what is going on in the Song of Ice and Fire. I read A Game of Thrones about 7 years ago and enjoyed it tueoendmrsly.
