In today’s saddest news we learned that Whitney Houston, the legendary singer has died this afternoon. The news was delivered by Houston’s publicist earlier today. The singer died in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and no cause has been provided as yet, but based on the singer’s recent past history with drug abuse – speculation follows. Whitney Houston, a multiple Grammy and Emmy award winner, was a cousin of Dionne Warwick and god daugher to Aretha Franklin . She started off as a church singer and her incredibly pure voice, which was able to hit the highest notes imaginable, soon propelled her to super stardom.
The highest grossing singer in the late 1980′s and 90′s, Houston created some of the most memorable songs of that time such as “Saving all my love for you”, “How will I know”, ” I want to dance with somebody” and many more.
On the eve of the music industry’s biggest awards, the Grammys, no doubt her iconic song from ” The Bodyguard” will be on everyone’s minds.
R.I.P Whitney and we Will always love you. Watch her perform this song at the 1994 Grammy Awards:
