LL Cool J Announced As Host Of 54th Annual Grammy Awards

For the first time in 7 years the Grammy Awards will have a host.  Two time Grammy winner, rapper and actor LL Cool J has been officially announced as the event’s host.

In the press release LL stated “I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night. I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it’s gonna be a great night!”

LL has of course hosted “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night” since it first appeared in December 2008, but has never hosted the main event itself.  The last time there was a host was 7 years ago when Queen Latifah had the honor.

This year the Grammy’s take place on Sunday February 12th at Staples Center in Los Angeles.  The show starts at 8pm EST.  Besides LL Cool J’s job as host, it was previously announced that Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift would be performing.
