Interview-Brennin Hunt Talks X Factor

Brennin Hunt, or as he prefers to be known just Brennin, never failed to surprise on The X Factor this season. First, as a contestant nobody expected him to be such a hit in the very first audition. Then we were shocked because he was eliminated from the final 8 ‘boys’ by LA Reid. The elimination ended his journey to the live shows which start tonight. Brennin shared his X Factor story in an interview with Real Style Network.

Real Style:  Tell us about your experience on the show.

Brennin: It was amazing to see the edited version on the show. I had no idea that they were going to portray me as this arrogant guy (laughs) – I guess it was edited like that for the shock value. I think everyone expected me to sing really poorly after that intro and were pleasantly surprised that I could actually sing. It was nice to see the audience reaction…

Real Style: How has appearing on The X Factor changed your life?

Brennin: Well I’m down in LA now, holding lots of meetings… so we’ll see. Also I released a new record just called Brennin with the song that I sang at the audition (How We Make It). It’s weird going down to the local coffee shop now and ladies in line taking videos of me on their cell phones (chuckles) a bit of an adjustment for me!

Real Style: Were you upset that you didn’t make it to the final 4 ‘boys’?

Brennin: I have to be honest… I was definitely disappointed. On the show during the audition for LA Reid, they actually had me sing two songs. The other song I sang was “Unfaithful” by Rihanna-I liked that performance better, but that’s not the one the producers chose to show. I also wanted to change the arrangement on the song they kept  called “Like A Star”, because I thought I could make it sound better with my vocals- but that wasn’t allowed either…

Real Style: Many viewers were upset that you and some other amazing performers didn’t make it to the final 4 performers and go on to the live shows.

Brennin: I agree. I was also very upset that some of the people I thought were incredible such as Tiger Budbill  in the over 30 category and Tora Woloshin in the girls didn’t make it.. I still have some really good friends on the show and will continue rooting for them.

Real Style: In the first audition Simon Cowell said that you have a brilliant voice and a great look and that he can make you into a great artist. Do you plan on following up on that?

Brennin: Yes, most definitely!

Vancouver Sun today spoke about the randomness of  TV competitions.

‘That some of the more talented singers won’t appear in tonight’s live show – 53-year-old grandmother and gospel singer Elaine Gibbs, pop-ingenues Caitlin Koch and Jazzlyn Little, and country troubadour Brennin Hunt, to name just four – while some clearly inferior performers – sad-sack James Brown impersonator Dexter Hay-good and annoying 14-yearold rapper Brian Bradley, to name just two – shows how arbitrary TV-talent competitions can be, but now the serious business begins.’

We have to agree with Vancouver Sun. Some choices for the live shows were just bizarre, others disappointing and just a couple captured our imagination. Check out the video of  Brennin’s first audition on the X factor with close to 500,000 views, he is ‘sexy’ and the audience knows it!

Brennin is a talented musician. It’s sad that the show portray him that way, take things out of context. Brennin is a very nice guy and mow people seeing this and realized that X Factor is a joke. They already decided who they want to be on, or to win. Rihanna’s comments on Brennin is a joke also. Needless to say, I don’t watch XFactor any more. I’m sure this will open the door for Brennin. He deserves to be sucessful with his beautiful voice. Je is a brilliant song writer. good luck, Brennin..Whole Lotta Love to you.

I thought Brennin was so much better than some of the others. I can’t stand the little kid or Rene. the fact that LA knocked out Phillip just proves that he just sucks at the whole reality tv genre…

I stopped watching the x- factor also, after Brennin was eliminated. I will never understand some of the obviously bad choices that were made. It’s not believable at all, Simon is a drama queen. And L A really disappointed me. It was not fair at all to Brennin.

I thought when Brennin sang he struck a cord in my heart too like what Paula said. I couldn’t believe they did’nt pick him to go on the live show. Now I’m not going to watch X Factor anymore. If he was picked it would of made the show exciting and neat to watch. LA made a bad move.
