Last night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars caused a little controversy when two different judges came under fire. First it was Len Goodman dealing with a verbal assault from dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the show, and then later on it was Bruno Tonioli being attacked by Cher after comments he made toward her son Chaz.
If you watched the episode last night, you would have seen dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy melt down after receiving 20 of 30 points for his routine with soccer star Hope Solo. It all started when Len Goodman said “Hope, I’ve never lost faith in you. I always feel like there is so much there, and for some reason it hasn’t come out. This is your worst dance of the season in my opinion.” Maksim disagreed however, and vented his frustrations. When Goodman said “I’ve been in this business for 50 years,” Maksim replied “Then maybe it’s time to go!”
Backstage the frustrations continued, with Maksim telling host Brooke Charvet “With all due respect, this is my show. I help make it what it is.”
It was certainly a lot of drama, but Maksim and Hope didn’t even get the lowest score, that belonged to Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer who received 19 points. After their routine Bruno Tonioli commented that Chaz looked like “a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey.” Chaz’s mother Cher took offense to the comment and wrote the following posts on Twitter. ”That guy Has NO ROOM 2 Talk “Little PENGUINS” I find it disrespectful that Bruno refers to Chaz as a “little penguin” & a yoda!”, ”IS IT DWTS Or LOOKING PERFECT WTS? ITS EASY 4 HIM 2 TAKE CHEAP SHOTS AT CHAZ ! LET HIM COME 2 “MY” STAGE” and “I COULD TEACH HIS LITTLE ARM WAVING ASS SOME MANNERS ! Critique CHAZ’S DANCE STYLE, MOVEMENTS ETC,.BUT DON’T MAKE FUN OF MY CHILD ON NAT.TV”.
As of yet Tolioli has not responded.
