In an incredibly emotional finale of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, little Tara Jean Popowich was declared the winner.
Just 20 years old, this talented dancer danced with so much heart and soul that she moved even seasoned judges and performers to tears. Tara Jean is a dancer and dance teacher from Lethbridge, Alberta who auditioned for the first season of the show and didn’t make it even into the top 20. She went home, worked her butt off and auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance Canada season two, got in the top 20 and went on two to capture the title of Canada’s Favorite Dancer not letting even serious dance injuries get in the way of her goal.
This is what Canadians are known for: spirit, hard work and determination and Tara Jean Popowich embodies that spirit. Good for you girl! We expect great things from you in the future.
Btw, if you haven’t yet seen So You Think You Can Dance Canada…as in you’ve been away for a very extended leave on a deserted island, unconscious in hospital, living in a cave… START WATCHING! It’s an amazing show. It ROCKS. Building on the concept of the American show So You Think You Can Dance. The Canadian show added it’s own unique multicultural and bicultural ( French and English) Canada flavour. Many different types and styles of dance are explored on the show making it the visual dance feast that it is.
