After hiding out and being on the run over 30 years, director Roman Polanski has been arrested for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Polanski, who you know from making movies Rosemary’s Baby and The Pianist, was arrested by the Swiss police and may be extradited to the US for trial. AP reports that the States have been tracking him for four years.
He left the US back in 1978 after pleading guilty to these charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with an underage girl.
He’s been living in France with his wife and two children where they would not extradite him and avoiding countries that he thought might send him back. Apparently he didn’t bet on the Swiss.
Now celebs and politicians are petitioning for his release. If he pleaded guilty back then, it’s time he accepted his punishment.

I don’t know…. what he did was terrible of course, but was it rape? its been over 30 years this is a woman in her 40;s by now…is there not a way to settle this. There are children being sold in marriage at that age in Afganistan and those places, where is the outcry on that?
Just because he could afford to take advantage of a loop hole and run away doesn’t mean he shouldn’t pay for his crime. The woman is 40ish now but has had to live with what was done to her for many many years.
