Former Spice girl Victoria Beckham has revealed her latest diet obsession. According to multiple news sources and the star herself, Victoria is now following the ‘Honestly Healthy Alkaline Programme’ written by Vicki Edgson and Natasha Corrett. Victoria even tweeted a photo of the book with the caption: ”Love this healthy eating cook book! Xvb”
An alkaline diet is said to help with digestion, boost energy levels, calm the nerves and help you achieve optimal health. It requires followers to make their diet consist of 70% alkaline foods in an effort to keep the body’s pH between 7.35 and 7.45. Popular foods and beverages are ruled out including alcohol, coffee and tea.
According to the book, the authors believe that acidic foods put pressure on the liver and kidneys, and that their diet will help improve not only your energy levels, but also memory, headaches, bloating, heart disease and insomnia.
