Like you, we have also been searching for the solution to our hair woes for New Year’s Eve. Real Style Network tried the new L’Oreal and Rowenta Steampod system to see if it would truly give our hair the promised lasting sleek look.
L’Oreal and Rowenta have created this new technology in hair styling using steam and a pro-keratin treatment to smooth your hair. We went to the salon to get this treatment done and first they washed our hair, and then applied the Pro-Keratin Steam Activated Cream. There are three levels of cream for your specific hair type. Our stylist said that while you could use the cream without the Steampod, you won’t get nearly the same effects. Also using the Steampod without the steam activated cream won’t give your the same finish. This was designed to be used all together. Then after blow drying our hair dry, we were ready to get steamed.

The steamer looks and acts like your regular flat iron with one big difference of the added steam. There is a reservoir in the iron to hold water that gets pushed out of holes to steam your hair. It steams your hair to open the follicles to let the keratin cream in and then seals it in and smoothes with the flat iron.
As you can see from the before image, we had unruly waves in our hair. The Steampod results were instantaneous. You can see how smooth, soft and silky our hair got. While you do have to go a bit slower than your average flat iron, the results are worth the added time.

The treatment will last in your hair for a few days and even keep your hair smoother and more manageable through one wash. The best part is how natural it looks though. Old friends were telling us how the Steampod really transformed our look from that usual wavy style to a naturally looking straight style.
