Mariah Carey’s new OPI nail polish line is all ready to hit shelves in January to extend you holiday glamour for a bit longer with loads of pink and sparkle. We tested out the new nail polish collection to see if it gave us visions of love or was a heartbreaker.
There isn’t much surprise as far as colour goes in this collection. It has pale pinks and purple and lots of glitter and sparkles, just like you imagine. Any girly girl is going to squeal with delight at the sparkly “Pink Yet Lavender” glitter. Even more mature ladies will love the “A Butterfly Moment” neutral pinky beige shade.
What is exciting in the collection is the new Liquid Sand nail lacquer that changes the way you see and wear glitter and sparkles on your nails. In the bottle these liquid sand shades look like your average glitter nail polish, but when you apply it is totally different. The polish dries with a textured matte finish like nothing else. Forget about the high gloss shine you are used to seeing on your nails. This is rough and textured. There are four shades of this new Liquid Sand nail polish in red, blue, purple and burgundy.
You will probably want to wear the Liquid Sand polish on your nails over a neutral nail polish even though it is fairly opaque when applied. If not, you might have a difficult time removing this gritty polish from your nails.
So while you might blow off Mariah’s nail polish collection as typical, OPI’s new Liquid Sand nail polish is anything but! We can’t wait to see if they make more of these shades and learn different ways to wear it.
