If you still find you have trouble picking out a foundation to match your skin tone, you’re in luck — serious luck! We’re obsessed with this cool beauty invention: the Sephora + Pantone Color IQ iPad, which helps you find the foundation that best matches your skin tone. So how does it work? A Sephora salesperson holds a spectrocolorimeter to your face. A Spectrocolorimeter is a tiny camera that takes 27 photos of your skin in just a few seconds. It then gives you a number between 1 and 110, based on the warmth or coolness of your skin’s undertones and the depth of your skin’s colour. Once you find out what number you are, the app then searches all of the foundations available at Sephora to pick the one that best suits your skin. Amazing! The only problem is, the spectrocolorimeter is only currently available for use at Sephora’s Time Square location, as well as the brand’s San Francisco location on Powell Street. We might have to take a quick trip to New York to try it out!
