If you haven’t jumped onto the BB cream trend just yet, you may want to hold out a little longer because now there are CC creams on the way to outrank the current trend. CC Creams are a more intense version of the current BB creams.
While the BB stands for “Beauty Balm” or “Blemish Balm”, CC stands for “Colour and Care” or “Color and Correct”. BB cream was invented in Germany, then the CC creams were created in Korea and are currently popular in Asia. According to reports CC creams contain more anti-aging properties than what we are getting now. The increased benefits of CC cream are said to be that it repairs the look of your skin tone, has a higher SPF rating, goes on smooth and lighter than BB cream, and repairs damage to weathered skin.
Chanel currently launches a CC cream on the market in Asia. It uses “deep sea extracts” to offer a deeper moisturizing than their other products. Unfortunately it’s not currently available outside of Asia.
For those in North America, our first feel of a CC cream will come in October when Olay releases the Total Effects CC Tone Correcting Moisturizer. Juice Beauty is also reported to have a CC cream on the way expected to launch in January. We will be waiting patiently!
