Hair Treatments From Your Kitchen

If you scan the beauty aisles you will see household products including coconut, caviar, and even beer listed in the ingredients. You don’t necessarily need to buy all new products to update your routine, because you can use kitchen products for homemade hair treatments.

Baking Soda

Simple baking soda that you probably have at home right now is great for your hair to remove build-up. After you shampoo use a mixture of 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 3 cups of water on your hair. You can also sprinkle the baking soda on your shampoo and apply it as usual. Then condition your hair as before. This will help anyone suffering from dull, lifeless locks.

Garlic

Garlic is a hair loss remedy for anyone with thinning or fine hair. To make this mixture get: 1 tablespoon of aloe gel, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 table spoon of garlic juice, 2 egg yolks, 3 tablespoons of  chamomile tea mix and 3 cups of water. Mix the garlic juice and honey in a bowl and place in the fridge to cool. Boil the water and tea for 30 minutes. Then add 1 egg yolk and the aloe to the garlic honey mixture. Apply the garlic mix to your hair, wrap with a towel and leave for 20 minutes. Wash with normal shampoo. Rub in the other egg yolk and rinse with warm water. Finally rinse with the tea water. You should do this approximately once a week.

Eggs

Eggs contain natural hair conditioners and proteins making them perfect to get beautiful hair. To make this hair treatment set out half a cup of mayonnaise and one or two eggs to let them get to room temperature. Stir the egg yolks into the mayo until smooth. Apply the  mix on dry/damp hair and massage in. Pile all of your hair on your head, clip up and cover with a plastic bag. Wrap a towel around your head to keep it in place and let it sit for 30  minutes. Rinse with cool water (do not use hot water) and then wash as usual.

Molasses

Molasses contains many nutrients including iron, calcium, copper and potassium that improve hair growth, but when applied directly onto your hair molasses can rescue anyone suffering from extremely dry hair. Pour the sticky syrup over your hair and massage in. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Wash out as usual. Remember this trick come the dry winter months.

Olive Oil

Get shiny hair in a snap by making a hair mask using olive oil. You can find many recipes online, but an easy one is combine 2 tablespoons of honey with 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the mixture onto towel dry hair and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse and you are ready to go!

Beer

Beer improves the shine and thickness of your hair, while the hops is said to help repair damage. You can make your own homemade beer shampoo by combining one cup of mild shampoo and one and half cups of boiled beer. Let the beer cool before adding it to your shampoo bottle. For conditioning, mix one cup of warm beer with one tablespoon of jojoba oil.
