One of the most special things a girl can do for herself is find her own signature fragrance. Once you’ve settled of how you want to smell, your work still isn’t done! Here are 3 easy tips to help you apply fragrance properly to make the most of your signature scent:
1. Spray your fragrance on some of your body’s pulse points: your wrists, the back of your knees, behind your ears, crook of your of arm and the base of your throat. These are the warmer parts of your body, where your blood vessels are closest to your skin, and the heat from these areas will help project the fragrance. Don’t make the mistake of rubbing your wrists together, though. Rubbing your wrists could crush the scent molecules, damaging the intended scent.
2. If you want your fragrance to smell a bit stronger, consider also using the same fragrance in its shower gel and lotion forms, if they exist. Otherwise, make sure to use an unscented lotion on your body before applying your fragrance. A scented lotion will get in the way of your signature fragrance if it’s not from the same fragrance line.
3. Before leaving the house, gently mist yourself (spray fragrance in the air and walk into it). The fragrance will then attach to your clothes and hair and your scent will last longer throughout the day. Scents have more longevity on clothes and hair, even though the scent is more subtle there than on your body, since your hair and clothes don’t get as warm as your skin.
