Going Grey: We Try Fall’s Hottest Nail Polish Colour

If you are tired of the bold neon colours of summer, fear not because fall has neutral hues that are going to knock your socks off. Grey nail polish is going to be one of the biggest trends of the coming season and we are in love with this dark neutral hue.

From pale greys to dark almost black, there are 50 shade of grey in the beauty aisles to suit your every need. We tried new grey nail polish from Zoya, OPI and Nars to see which shades pleased our inner goddess.

Our favourite grey polish of the season is Nars’ Galion. While other shades were too light or dark, this was just right! The Nars nail polish was a medium shade of grey that easily transitions from day to night. It beat out the other grey shades because it didn’t have any coloured undertones. It worked well against our skin looking like a solid grey.

OPI’s fall nail polish collection features two shades of grey. A very dark Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! and a very light Berlin There Done That both of the hues were quite nice, they were too far to the extreme to suit our fall mood. The pales shade could almost fall into the neutrals category with a slightly pink undertone that may come in handy.

Zoya has two grey nail polishes in their NYFW 2012 collection. The Evvie and Noot polishes are very similar dark hues, with Noot being a tad darker. These greys are interesting because they have strong blue and green undertones. With the right skin colour these greys could really pop, but they didn’t suit our grey fixation.

Whichever hue suits your mood, be sure to add a grey nail polish to your fall style for the ultimate in neutral manicures.
