Half the trick to looking good in bikini shots is knowing how to pose for the camera. Ever notice that some of your friends who don’t necessarily hit the gym as often as you do still manage to look the best in photos from around the pool? That’s because they have a few tricks up their sleeve… or bikini strap, that is. Here’s how to pose for a bikini photo:
Pose: Stand with you body 3/4 towards the camera with one foot in front of the other and the front leg slightly bent and your weight on your back leg. Pull your shoulders back with your back arched (just don’t overdo it or you’ll look like your on the Olympic gymnastics team).Make sure to suck in your stomach. If you have a bit of a belly, lean toward the camera to help conceal it as much as possible. Don’t be shy! You should practice this in front of a long mirror at home until you get it right.

Camera: Make sure that whoever is taking the photo holds the lens at eye level or above. Anything lower is unflattering because those angles create the image of a double chin and cast unattractive shadows.
Learn From The Pros: Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen told Fashionista.com, “I will not allow anyone to take a picture of me without that camera basically up in the sky and shooting down on me. Never allow someone to take a photo shooting upwards toward your face. That is absolutely terrifying to me. You have to decide what’s right for your face too. Me, I have to stick my chin out and tilt my head way down. I call it the turtle—it’s really awkward but you stick out your chin and you lower it and it feels crazy but it makes everyone look better as long as you’re not too aggressive with it… As for body wise—a*s out always. Shove that a*s out. Definitely you’re supposed to pop your a*s out until your lower back hurts. Sometimes when I get home from a shoot—that little dimple area in the lower back—mine is throbbing.”
