This season in fashion and beauty there has been no shortage of bright colours and bold patterns, and your nails are no exception. Forgo a basic manicure for punchy polishes and must-try nail trends! We’ve already told you how to create the perfect ombré manicure, and now were going to show you how to perfect a marbled nail look. Follow these easy steps for enviable nails that everyone will be asking about.
Here is what you will need:
- Small bowl or cup filled with room temperature water
- 2 or more nail polishes in the colours of your choice
- Toothpick
- Scotch tape
- Q-tip
- Nail polish remover
- Base and top coat
Steps:
1. Apply a base coat to nails for polish to adhere to (for a more opaque finish start with a base colour like white or black)
2. Place tape around your nails coming as close to it as possible for easy cleaning
3. Drop alternating drops of your selected polishes into the water (just take the wand out of the bottle and let it drip into the water)
4. Move the toothpick around in the water until you achieve a pattern that you are satisfied with
5. Place one nail into the design with your palm facing upward
6. With a toothpick push away the remaining polish in the bowl before taking your finger out
7. Repeat for each nail (remember to add more polish and create a new design for each nail)
8. When you are finished, take off the tape and remove any excess nail polish that may have gotten on our skin with nail polish remover and a q-tip
9. Set with top coat
