Just when we thought we’d seen every shade of hair imaginable, fall hair trends just got more outrageous. Blame it on the Olympics, or blame it on some of our favourite style icons like Kelly Osbourne and Katy Perry, but hair colour is going to another extreme: metallic. Metallic is all the rage right now in terms of eyeshadow, eye liner and even lipstick, so why wouldn’t hair follow suit? And why go blonde when you can go gold, or grey when you can go silver?

Getting the right shiny finish is a must for achieving the metallic look, so we recommend going to the salon instead of attempting this look at home, since you’ll need a special gloss or shine treatment to pull it off. Although the metallic look fades fast, you can always opt for a more permanent look with hair extensions.
