“I’ve always, since I was a little kid, wanted to be a love interest in a music video,” said Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale, who stars in Jackson Harris’ new music video for “Come Back Down To Earth” off his upcoming album Sharks and Vampires. While we’re always big fans of Lucy’s versatile hair, which looks good messy or perfectly polished, we love the way she rocked disheveled curls in the California desert for this video. Here’s how to get the look in 2 easy steps.
1. Use a 3/4 to 1 inch curling iron to curl the hair, making large ringlets in different directions around the head until all the hair has been curled into barrels. The key is to alternate between clockwise curls and counter-clockwise curls so that when you loosen them up, they don’t clump together in the same direction (that’s the way you’d style your hair if you were going for a more Katy Perry-inspired flapper look).
2. Spray all your curls with hairspray. Let hair dry for a few minutes before breaking apart curls with your fingers. Flip hair over and then back up and — voila, sexy disheveled hair!
