Cheryl Cole would still look beautiful after an hour and a half of hot yoga, so when she puts in a little effort, we’re always completely wowed. Cole channeled her inner 1960s sexy suburban housewife for her latest video “Under The Sun.” While we love her sultry eye makeup, our favourite part of her look is her volumous up-do. While, from afar, it looks like she has hair extensions added in to make her hair appear more full, it’s actually a super simple look to achieve at home, and all you need is a sock. Seriously. Ready?
Step 1
Choose a sock made from a thick-ish fabric, preferably in a colour that’s similar to the colour of your hair (a white or vibrant coloured sock might show through). Cut off the foot of the sock and roll the rest of the fabric down into a donut shape (you can also buy hair donuts in specialty hair shops, if you don’t want to cut a sock).
Step 2
Pull your hair back into a high ponytail and secure it with an elastic near the crown. Pull your ponytail through the sock donut so that the sock bun is resting on the crown of your head. Let your hair fall in every direction around the sock donut. Move strands around until the sock donut is completely cover by hair.

Step 3
Tuck strands of hair around and under the sock donut until your hair resembles and over-sized donut. Secure in place with body pins. Let loose strands fall as they may for a more sexy dishevelled look.
