Kate Middleton is envied for her hair just as much as her fashionable wardrobe (which she shops for herself might we add). When it comes to her perfectly coiffed locks, she spares no expense, reportedly going for three blow outs a week at the same salon she’s been going to for the last decade — Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa in Chelsea. But for most of us who aren’t able to shell out $75 a visit for red carpet-worthy hair, it’s actually possible to achieve a gorgeous blow out at home. We asked celebrity hair stylist Marc Anthony, who has worked with stars like Uma Thurman, Fergie, Justin Bieber and Frida Pinto, to find out how we can get the look.
1. Ensure your your hair is washed with the proper product for not only your hair type but the look you want, explains Marc. If you have curly hair and you want your end look to be smooth, use products like bye.bye.Frizz Keratin Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. If you have fine hair and want to get a bit more volume, try Instantly Thick Hair Thickening Shampoo and Weightless Volumizing Conditioner.
2. Ensure that you have the proper styling products as well. Aim for a product that will deliver the final look you wish to achieve; whether it is volume (Instantly Thick Hair Thickening Cream) or smooth (bye.bye.Frizz Keratin Smoothing Blow Dry Cream).
3. Blow dry with a large barrel natural bristle round brush to create body and movement. Blow dry in small sections starting at the bottom and working your way up. Be sure to hold the hair taut with the brush as you blow dry; this will help to keep it smooth as well as straight. Once hair is dry add a bit of a shine serum like Moisture Gloss Daily Drops to your fingertips and run it through the hair from roots to ends. This will break it up a bit for a natural finish.
