Carly Rae Jepsen was the big winner at the MMVA’s last night in Toronto and looked gorgeous while performing and accepting the three awards she won. We loved her fresh, yet dramatic makeup she wore on the red carpet. Like Shenae Grimes, Carly kept her hair down, styling it with messy waves. The tousled beachy look is quite easy to achieve, even for those with straight hair. We suggest using a product like Frederic Fekkai’s Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray to help create volume and curl. Apply on damp hair and then use a diffuser to scrunch hair while drying hair on a low setting.
Makeup-wise, Carly went for a super dramatic eye, with a heavy liner and dark smokey eyeshadow. When it comes to all-day (or all-night) wear, we suggest a waterproof or long-wear eyeliner to start, such as this budgeproof version from Nars Cosmetics. Finish the smoky eye look with a mineral shadow like the rich hues from The Body Shop’s Baked Eye Colour collection.
