While the golden rule has always been that you should moisturize your skin every day, we were wondering that that is fact or fiction. We turned to our expert, Dr. Nowell Solish, to find out if everyone should be moisturizing every day or if that is just a myth.
Q: Do you really need to moisturize tour skin every day?
A: Moisturizing is one of those things that some people do that don’t need to. If you are dry then definitely moisturize, but if you are oily and acne prone, it may make matters worse. Each person needs to judge their own skin and see what areas need moisturizing and how often they need to apply it. A post menopausal woman (as the hormone levels change our skin changes) who lives in Toronto during the winter will have much more of a need to moisturize, than an acne prone teenager in the summer.
