Beauty companies are in a race to be the first to harness a new technology where cream will help your skin cells regenerate themselves. They are using glycobiology, the study of natural sugars in your cells, to help your skin cells smooth out wrinkles and repair skin.

Beauty brands, including L’Oreal, are recreating these sugars within their creams for older women whose skin doesn’t create the chemicals as often due to age. The idea is that if they can add these chemicals back into your skin with their creams, you should look more youthful.

According to news reports they are hopeful at the results because this is the first time some of these companies have worked with the cells themselves.
