To call us nail polish junkies would be an understatement. We’re always on the lookout for new lacquers in fun colours that will play up our digits and our favourite outfits so we were especially excited to try the polish offering from Yves Rocher.
THE HYPE: This polish promises to provide a covering, smoothing texture from the first coat, with a brush designed for easy application and deep, radiant colours with extreme shine.
THE TEST: We went without a base coat to truly test the polish’s durability and, as promised, with just one coat we got a full-coverage bold pop of colour. With a second coat the colour just intensified.
THE VERDICT: We love that this lacquer delivers a strong finish with just a single coat — great for times when you don’t have time to let two layers of polish dry. We didn’t apply a top coat and found that by the end day two the polish began to chip, but that’s easily remedied. We love Yves Rocher’s colour offering: vibrant reds and pretty pastels, which are perfect for summer. We’ve also had a sneak peek at the shades coming out for Fall (more bold reds and slick browns and taupes). And at $5.00 a pop we’ll definitely be stocking up on this lovely lacquer each season.
