Update Your Braids For Fall With These Runway Looks

Although braids are often associated with summertime bliss, they can just as easily transition into your signature Fall 2017 hairstyle. Whether you want to sweep your hair into a stylish updo or sport long plaits, try drawing your cues from the catwalk. Have a look at these runway styles before you decide on your next braided ‘do for the season ahead.

Balmain

At Balmain, tight cornrows made a splash against the back of the head. For a finishing touch, the hair was finished off with a smooth low ponytail, with strands wrapped around the base of the pony. To truly master an inspired hairstyle yourself, try slicking flyaways and frizz away from your face with gel or hairspray.

Alice and Olivia

The milkmaid braids were the look of the day at Alice and Olivia, with strategic loose tendrils worn around the face. Meanwhile, hair was woven around the back of the head to complete the overall hairstyle, with some texture thrown in for a finishing touch.

Valentino

If you’re not quite ready to jump into the braided trend headfirst (literally!), try taking your inspiration from Valentino. The look of smooth, middle-parted hair can be easily elevated with a selection of tiny, thin braids. In fact, skinny plaits around the visage help to create visual interest, and can keep the bohemian spirit of summer going strong.
