Get Ariana Grande’s Hair And Makeup From The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals

At the MTV Video Music Awards last night in New York City, pint-sized powerhouse Ariana Grande brought a stylish new touch to her trademark beauty look. Since the 23-year-old songstress is probably best recognized by her signature high ponytail, we weren’t surprised to see her iconic coiffure on the red carpet. However, Grande’s pony for the night was revamped with flirty front fringe and slightly crimped tresses. Meanwhile, her flawless skin and doe eyes completed her makeup look.

If you’re aiming to channel your inner Ariana Grande, here’s how to achieve an inspired look for yourself.

Makeup

1) Apply illuminating liquid foundation to your visage: To prepare your skin, start off by using a kabuki brush to apply lightweight illuminating visage. The look of glowing, youthful skin will help to showcase your facial features, and especially to bring the focus up to your eye makeup.

2) Add black liquid eyeliner to your top eyelids only: For a true doe-eyed effect, outline your upper eyelids with black winged liner. The look of curled lashes and lashings of black mascara also helps to emphasize your eyes.

3) Finish your makeup look with nude lip gloss and peach blush: In order to get a refreshed, girlish effect, slick on a touch of nude or beige-toned lip gloss or liquid lipstick. Lightly contour your cheekbones with pale peach cheek colour, which can easily suit your lip colour and leave the focus on your lids.

Hair

According to Yahoo Beauty, Grande’s hairstyle for the evening was crafted by stylist Aaron Light, who blow dried her bangs and then styled her locks into a ponytail. Meanwhile, randomly placed crimped strands brought texture to her overall hairdo. To master the style on your own, start off with sleek and straight locks. Once you’ve secured your mane into a high cheerleader ponytail, arrange any flyaways and create a texturized effect with a crimper. While Grande is usually spotted with either stick straight locks or bouncy waves, we think the retro style crimped strands bring a red carpet twist to her usual tresses.
