The Most Beautiful Cleopatras Of All Time
With the Liz & Dick biopic about to hit TV and Angelina Jolie set to play Cleopatra in yet another film about the great beauty’s life, Cleopatra is having quite the comeback in pop culture. Cleopatra is always a hot costume of choice for women during the Halloween party season, and this year it was more popular than ever with supermodels like Heidi Klum and Gisele Bundchen both going out as the most beautiful woman of all time. Earlier this year, Britney Spears got decked out as Cleopatra to film one of her fragrance commercials for Elizabeth Arden and Lindsay Lohan got dressed up as Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra while filming the biopic Liz & Dick. With Lifetime’s Liz & Dick finally getting its November 25th release date, we have a feeling Cleopatra might being having an even bigger influence on the beauty world in the weeks to come. Cleopatra may have been the most beautiful woman ever to walk the face of the earth according to popular believe, but which of the most famous Cleopatra impersonators is the fairest of them all? We decided to take a look!
Italian beauty Sophia Loren played Cleopatra in the Italian movie Two Nights with Cleopatra, which was — surprisingly enough — a comedy.
Monica Bellucci played Cleopatra in the the French movie Asteriz and Obelix Meet Cleopatra, which also starred Gerard Depardieu.
Britney Spears dressed up as Cleopatra this past August while shooting her commercial for her fragrance. Along with the photo of herself dressed up, the X Factor judge tweeted, “Loving day 2 of my Elizabeth Arden Fantasy Twist fragrance shoot. Jason [Trawick] says I look like Jean Harlow!”
Lindsay Lohan dressed up as Elizabeth Taylor playing Cleopatra for her biopic of the actress, Liz & Dick, which airs at 9pm on Lifetime on November 25th.
Heidi Klum had her Halloween 2012 costume — a head-to-toe gold Cleopatra ensemble — designed by Martin Izquierdo.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen also made her Halloween 2012 costume a Cleopatra look. Unlike Heidi Klum, Gisele opted for a small crown as opposed to a giant gold headpiece and wore a beaded black wig.
Okay, we’re cheating a bit here, since this is a photo of Angelina Jolie playing Olympias, the mother of Cleopatra, in Oliver Stone’s Alexander. Nevertheless, Angie is set to play Cleopatra in an upcoming movie based on Stacy Schiff’s book Cleopatra: A Life. We have a feeling Angelina will do her best to be the fairest of them all when it comes down to seeing which star played Cleopatra best.
