Montreal Fashion & Design Festival, August 20-28
The Fashion & Design Festival in Montreal returns, and this time features appearances from editor Caroline Issa and Canadian playwright Robert Lepage. There is also a screening of
the fashion film Pop Couture: Fashion After Cristóbal Balenciaga. Expect everything from designer shows to panels at the annual fest, which takes place at Montreal’s Quartier Des Spectacles.

African Fashion Week Toronto,

As the latest multicultural Fashion Week to hit the 6ix, African Fashion Week Toronto officially arrives in the city in time for the end of summer. The sixth annual edition of the event takes place at the Globe and Mail Centre, and features African designers such as House of Ruth Atelier, couturier Adebayo Jones and Nigerian-born bridal designer Esé Azenabor. This year, the event starts with an opening party and student designer competition. The Fashion Week will also bring guests a series of designer showcases, while the African Fashion Industry Awards show is set to conclude the fashionable festivities.
